… as I read, study, and teach through Philippians, a deeper wisdom revealed.
Our love is to abound in real knowledge and discernment, so as to distinguish the difference between genuine and fraud, the faithful from the wolves among us (kin & kind). Some brethren, to be sure, are preaching Christ even from envy and strife, proclaiming Jesus out of selfish ambition and empty conceit, rather than from pure motives, thinking to cause distress upon the upright. In no way should we be alarmed by these opponents, which is a sign of destruction for them, but of salvation for us, and that, from God. Paul dealt with this very conflict which was then also experienced by his brethren, resulting in the greater progress of the gospel. What corrupt peers tried to destroy, God utilized for the further growth of His will. We the faithful this day also suffer the same for the cause of the Christ, for He first suffered for us. And so, we learn to practice and heal with encouragement in Christ, consolation of love, fellowship of the Bible, affection and compassion towards each other. Christ emptied Himself to become a servant, we must follow His example and conquer our trials. We will remain humble, united, strong, and growing, proving ourselves blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom we appear as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life.
Stay focused and stay positive, this vapour of a walk will soon bring our departure. Till then, beloved, onward gospel soldiers we march.
