Prayer Requests

Greetings, community members and supporters. This is our prayer list. Be sure to reach out and share any request we can bring to God in prayer. These will rotate as days move forward. We urge you to dedicate time during the day for this purpose. God will bless you. Thank you kindly.

1. Dear family: I just received a message from my nephew, Randy Proffitt, stating that he will be starting radiation treatments tomorrow, (MONDAY), for the cancer that was recently removed from his brain. He is very concerned about this treatment and has beseeched us for prayers stating, “I cannot do this by myself”. I assured him that I would rally our prayer warriors on his behalf. Thank you all! In Christian love, Cindy Proffitt.

2. On behalf of our sister, Nikia: "My divorce hearing date is on Tuesday the 18th. I know I need prayer, but I can't articulate it in words the precise need. Just know, I wouldn't be going through this divorce if my soul salvation wasn't in jeopardy."

3. On behalf of our sister Cindy, "I have a niece who has been fighting Covid for a couple of weeks. Her name is Hannah Wilson. She was admitted to the hospital, a couple of days ago. She is in ICU. They had planned to start Remdesivir at 6 this morning but her liver function is elevated. They are doing a CT scan to check for blood clots, which was to be done @ 10 this morning. Her doctor has decided to start her on Baricitinib, which is, at least, not an experimental drug. Would you all please pray with me for her situation? They have three children, all at home. Hannah is scared. I am encouraging her to pray and to think positively...and to trust & lean on God."

4. Our sister is asking "prayers for our nephew, Randy Proffitt. Randy has been struggling with cancer and has been receiving chemo. They just found that cancer has spread to his brain and he was admitted to Vanderbilt Hospital in TN for surgery. Please pray for Randy and the surgeons."

5. Our sister Lisa is requesting prayers for her "adult son, Ben is having problems with his throat and stomach. He is having an endoscopy as soon as the doctor can get him in for the procedure. Scheduled for 1/5. Thank you, Lisa"

6. Our sister Cindy is requesting prayers on behalf of Mike and his daughter. These are long-time friends of our sister Cindy. Mike has cancer and it is very difficult on his daughter. Let us pray God's will be done, that his health may be renewed and that gospel obedience takes place before it's too late.

7. Our sister Nikia is requesting prayers: "My Co-worker, Faith just lost her baby, please pray for her and her husband. They had been trying so hard to have a baby. I'm so sad for her."

8. Please pray for the "Liberty church of Christ in Mountain Home, Arkansas." They are a very small congregation (10-12 members) without any preacher. May God bless them with the passion to evangelize and seek growth in their community.

9. Our sister Anita is requesting prayers for her husband to obey the gospel and also to be with him as he starts new employment.

10. Please pray for Jo Bryant, whose husband, Ralph, is the preacher for the Abell Street congregation in Wharton, TX. Sister Jo has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of uterine cancer. She has undergone surgery and is now awaiting the biopsy results and anticipating further cancer treatments.

"Water Baptism, Saves?"

In 1 Peter 3:21, we see the explicit inspired words of Peter the Apostle of Jesus the Christ. Was he teaching the Christians of the 1st Century that they were saved by "water?" What exactly did Peter mean within the context? This and more we explore in this exclusive LOCALS podcast session.

"POLITICS"

Our p0latiks in a quick and simple Five Point Solution;

As Faithful Christians Governed by the Words of the Holy Spirit,

WE ARE...

1. Pro-Christ: All public sectors of service, power, influence, and leadership (i.e., Government, Corporation, Academics, Entertainment, and Media) should favour the upright moral policy found within the doctrine of Christ.

2. Pro-Life: from conception to natural death, we must protect the sovereignty of human existence from child to senior at all costs.

3. Pro-family, one M and one F, H&W, with prayerfully the blessing of children, must be protected, endorsed, encouraged, and kept secure at all costs.

4. Pro-SD: to honour the God-given liberty and freedom to secure one's life, household, and property in all decency and just conduct.

5. Pro-law: justice, order, border, and National safety to live life peacefully for the cause of Christ and the greater good of His kingdom.

We could expound much more on this 5-point formula; if you'd like to hear more, I have a link to several...

Rescued - Transferred - Redeemed
The Kingdom of His beloved Son

You've fallen asleep comfy in your bed, and a fire started in your house. You wake to panic as you become aware of your surroundings, trapped by a wall of lavalike heat. You find yourself in danger, where smoke and flames threaten your life. Your neighbors were capable of seeing the threat and had since called for help. The firefighters arrive on the scene and immediately find you in your bedroom--time for a rescue. Are you yet seen in a location of satety? No, not yet. There still needs to be a transfer from the site of dakness, smoke, and fire to an area of light, fresh air, and safety. And so the firefighters guide you out of certain death into a secure location. You have now been saved, not without damage, trauma, and loss. But you've gained your life and get to learn fowared another day.

You've become idle in your sinful behavior and practices. You wake to panic as you become aware of your eternal punishment. A neighbor cares for you enough to share Jesus with you. Will you obey the gospel?

The reception of forgivness was the desired result of all who willfully gave their lives to Christ, submissive to His spiritual operation (Col. 2:11-12). Paul, the apostle, speaking to his brethren in Colossae, was accurate in reminding them of their reconciliation. And how the Word of God they had chosen to hear produced fruit for the Kingdom. The Kingdom was God's preplanned location where all found within would have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

A domain needs a King, Christ Jesus. A Kingdom has boundaries, borders, law and order, and justice. This Kingdom is of a peculiar kind, and we should all seek first legal citizenry (Mt. 6:33). His Kingdom is the body, the church (Col. 2:1,18,24). The body for it has organic members all united for the purposed function--the church fo its assembly, it's family. The way in? Being a repentant believer confessing Christ, immersed into water calling on His name, in order to receive the forgiveness of your sins, being added to His Kingdom, local assembly (i.e. "rescued, transferred, redeemed").

This good news of Jesus Christ "was proclaimed in all creation" to give humankind a way out of the flames and sinful consequences. And we are wise to hear its call.

Is your house on fire?

Ref. Colossians 2:13-24

Your servant,

SM
