Being physically assaulted is easier to prove, it's outwardly on display for all to see. However, being psychologically manipulated and abused for years is quite a different beast. Who can open the mind and see such things? The oppressor lusts for control as he portrays himself like the good guy and makes the victim out to be a monster, recruiting disciples for his preeminent agenda. Far too often as a result, no justice is found this side of eternity for those left behind with broken families and divided congregations. Sadly, some even fall away from the faith not being able to fathom the evil some Christians are capable of practicing. Other casualties of exploit simply move on and try their best to heal from the spiritual damage, knowing that one Day all will be made right before our Lord. They set new goals and begin to build again, wiser and more quickly to discern the wolf. They find comfort from the support others who understand can give. Another day moves in the future, and stronger they become.
This is a deeper wisdom most aren't trained to recognize, yet she has been in existence since the fall of man, going back to Cain and Abel.
For all of you out there who are conscious of this truth, know you are not alone. You are loved and appreciated. There is a better day coming.
